I am enjoying the summer in Detroit and happy to be at work on new projects! My poem Telephone of the Wind is in the July issue of RIC Journal and several poems will be out in later this year (the literary world operates in a different time zone than we do).
I am also taking a hiatus from blogging to focus my free time on writing my next book. I did not expect a surprise hit podcast Plain Rainbows: LGBTQ Amish & Anabaptist Stories and 2 anthologies to promote this summer but here we are!
I was asked by a podcast earlier this year to post some book recs for summer but never got around to it... so, here are 3 books I loved:
1. Barbarian Days: A Surfing Life was a book I came across in Hawaii but did not have much enthusiasm picking up. Surfing? It is a fantastic read!
2. Detroit Poems Read local!
3. The Kin of Ata Are Waiting for You is an unforgettable read. I even gave this strange, beautiful novel a shout out in my book Punatic.
A big thank you to everyone for visiting this blog and your comments and messages on social! I appreciate you all!
I am dropping a new poetry micro-chapbook in the Kindle store! A free ebook will also be made available. Happy summer reading!
